Yamaha flags off the SZ Tour with 20 riders


Twenty chosen bikers are set to ride across India as Yamaha Motor today flagged off the “Yamaha SZ Tour - Stay Ahead”. The riders will ride the new SZ across 67 cities in 17 states of the country for the next one month. The month-long event will culminate with an event in Cochin on the October 17 2010

The rally will cover from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Orissa, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh over 30 days. Twenty bikers divided into two teams, each team consisting of 10 members started their journey from Delhi and ride through different routes across the country.

Commenting on the month long “Yamaha SZ Tour”, Mr Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD said, “Through the YAMAHA SZ tour, we aim to appeal & reach out to a wider section of customers, not only urban but also rural customers. Through this tour, we want to demonstrate Styling, good Mileage and Comfortable riding of SZ models as bikers traverse across the length & breadth of the country on these bikes to ride more than 12,000 kms.”
Yamaha acknowledges its Corporate Social Responsibility towards the society and is regularly conducting safe riding education program - Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) for inculcating safe riding habits and raising traffic safety awareness among local communities. Yamaha has already conducted this program in 7 cities across India since its inception a year ago. Through Yamaha SZ Tour, Yamaha aims to promote safety riding among bikers with the slogan “Be Safe on Road – Wear helmets while riding”.
