Yamaha sales growth 37% in February

New Delhi, March 1st, 2011: Riding on the success of its models in the premium segment, India Yamaha Motor posted a growth of 37% in its domestic sales during February 2011 vs. last year. The company registered sales of 23,384 units in February 2011 vs. 17,131 units in the same month last year in the domestic markets. The export figures stood at 9,662 units in February 2011 while 8,633 motorcycles were exported in February 2010. The overall sales recorded were 33,046 units in February 2011 vs. 25,764 units in February 2010, a growth of 28.3%.


“The company has displayed an upbeat spell in sales, on account of strong product portfolio and high customer confidence. We attribute this growth to our accolade models such as the YZF-R15, FZ, SZ and the YBR series. We are also planning to implement our Best 3S (Sales, Service & Spares) set up in tier-2 & tier-3 cities and increase sub-dealers in the rural areas as well,” said Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.

Yamaha continues to reinforce its relationship with the customers with its focus on the ‘YES!YAMAHA’ campaign which endeavors to provide the Best 3S Experience so that the customer always appreciates Yamaha and accepts the brand like the word “YES”. The company is making steadfast efforts to enhance customer trust by conducting consumer centric marketing initiatives like the Yamaha R15 One-Make Race, Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) for college students & kids, to name a few.
