Honda Motorcycles records 20 per cent growth in December

December has been good month for the automobile industry despite being the last month of the year, where usually sales stagger. This time most of the major automobile companies have witnessed double digit growth.

Now it has been reported that two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has reported 20 per cent growth in sales at 140,642 units in December 2010 over the same month previous year.

The reports have mentioned that in a statement, HMSI said the overall growth during the month stood at 20 per cent in December 2010 and the motorcycle segment contributed the most.

According to the reports, In the domestic market, the company sold 53,821 units of motorcycles, 76,263 units scooters. The exports contributed 10,558 units in December 2010, it added.

The company which is a subsidiary of Honda Japan, which recently announced the exit from its joint venture Hero Honda is focusing on establishing the presence in all the segments. The company has already announced a few launches including CBR 250R in April this year.
